Haiti Video
The first video I made at WIRED Magazine. In their May issue, they featured a long article on the catastrophe of the earthquake in Haiti focusing on the phenomena of a spontaneous relief effort and how to create order amidst a depleted infrastructure and complete chaos.
Video Editor at WIRED Magazine
In February of this year, I took on freelance work with bay area’s own WIRED magazine located in downtown San Francisco. In April, they hired me full time. I am the Video Editor for the magazine, my name appears in the masthead in both the iPad version and the print. Check it out!
We are formatting the magazine to run on the iPad and with this new digital interface we decided to expand the confines of print and have an interactive magazine. The app for the iPad was approved by Apple and the June issue is already up and running.
As the video editor for WIRED Magazine, I edit and create all the video content that will appear in the digital magazine. Photographers hired for shoots are now also shooting video (using the Canon 5D primarily). They send me the footage, I work with the editors for the articles to design a game plan, then I create the video.
Along side this, I am the asset traffic manager which means I also make sure all other content such as animations and 360s are created by our illustrators and arrive on time. Then, I upload all the content for the digital magazine, all pages and interactive assets, to Adobe who reformats it before going live on the iPad.
It’s a great gig and I am very lucky to have this land in my lap (a thank you to my dear friend, Matt).
Luckily, for those of you who do not yet have an iPad, WIRED.com will post each issue, from here on out, with the video components on their website.
Stay WIRED!
